03/03/2003 : Sad news - our so much expected litter by Lynway Stay in Touch turned into a nightmare. Last saturday, when Stacey's pups were overdue, we took her to the vet. On the Xray pictures he could only detect one living pup and several dead ones in varying stages of decomposition. A cesarean was immediately done to save the bitch and the one puppy. Stacey has recovered from the operation, but is of course still weak. The puppy, a beautiful tricolour dog, died on Sunday morning. He weighed only 116 grs and according to the vet had not any reserves in fat. Presumably he had been slowly starving in his mothers womb.

This second failed litter by Stacey is a complete mistery to us and to our vet. After the first litter failed , this time we had her checked every 5 days, with a progesterone test and an ultrasonic. The pups developped very well and the last scan was made on the 44th day. The pups had already a clearly visible skeleton and according to every knowledge, they should have been born, dead or alive.

We have opened a topic in our forum where we hope to gather some reports about similar experiences.

23/02/2003: New pictures of "Spice".

10/02/2003: We are expecting two very exciting litters: a repeat mating of Stokedale Shanghai Suprise by Mallicot Best Dressed Man. Our sparkling "Spice" and the tricolour "Donna" are from the previous litter. Incidently, yesterday Donna won CAC at her first show in Luxembourg under judge Brian Hawkins (Brilyn).

Our second litter will be by our wonderfully sweet Lynway Stay in Touch also by Mallicot Best Dressed Man. These pups will trace back multiple times to Geosan Flashback at Mallicot, which we so much admire.

14/4/2002: New photos of our youngsters are online: Lucy, Spice and Donna. Donna is now owned by Marthe Steimens, "Strawberry Country". See our daughter Nathalie play with the dogs

On 28th August 2001, our Muffin had a litter of 2 blue-merle dogs, 3 blue-merle bitches and 2 tricolour bitches by our stud dog Mallicot Best Dressed Man.

On 15th August 2001, our Magic had a litter of 3 tricolour dogs, 1 tricolour bitch, 1 dark-sable dog and 1 dark-sable bitch by Ch Silvermoor's Highland Chief. With this litter we obtained everything we wished from Magic and she is now with Nina Loihuranta and Taru Rekorius in Finland.

At 7½ weeks Magic's pups were eye-checked, see the results as well as their full names on the "7½ weeks" photo page. More recent photos are on the way. Our local rules oblige us to give all our puppies born in 2001 a name starting with "Y". We are very grateful to Val for helping us at finding 13 names with "Y".

Our Stacey won BOB & CAC at the Leuven show on 11/08/2001 under judge Mrs Roser

Our "Muffin" won CACIB at Nürnberg 13/05/2001 under judge Peter Fricke.

Our "Donnie", Mallicot Best Dressed Man won "Junior Brabo", 1st Exc in Youth class in Antwerpen.

To spare you some confusion: Wizard's Castle is our kennel affix for breeding collies and the name of our website dedicated to Collies. That's why the "Home" link takes you to the start page of the main collie site, and you have to click "Intro" to come back here.

Belvoir Castle

This is not Wizard's Castle.
It is the castle of the Duke of Rutland, which we visited during our trip to England in early summer 1999. (We visited the castle, not the duke)

Wizard's Castle is Raymonde, Nathalie and Johny Bergmann. We are living in Luxembourg, a small country in the heart of western Europe.

We have 15 years experience in breeding rough collies. It all started when Raymonde got her first collie "Jambo". He sadly died at only 12 years and 2 months in 1998. We wish we could still share our lifes with him, but he will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever. You may wish to visit his tribute site.

We are devoted to breeding collies of quality with a sweet expression and an outstanding temperament. Our collies are at ease at shows and at home. Being parents of a 5 year old girl, we take care that our collies respect children as we also educate our daughter to respect the dogs. Our collies conform to the Collie Standard of the FCI.If you want to have more information you can contact us by e-mail, fax, phone or postal mail

We started this website in late 1997 as a way to communicate our love of collies and it grew into something much bigger than just a kennel homepage. Everything on these pages however is only about our own kennel.

We are affiliated to the luxembourgish dog breeders federation "UCHL" which is a member of the FCI
